June Glossybox: Unboxing

June Glossybox
June Glossybox

Another month which can only mean another Glossybox unboxing blog post, I love doing these kinds of posts instead of full on reviews of them at the moment just because if I waited until I had tried every product, then these blog posts would be about 2 months behind and out of date haha.

So here goes this month's unboxing:

Laritzy Cosmetics - Shade Stix
I have never heard of this brand before so I'm intrigued to find out more about them and what they do. I'm not sure how I would use this product but I'm assuming it is something to do with contouring, which I just can't do haha. So I think I will have to sit down and have a look for some tutorials on this exact product.

Monu Skin - Eye Cool Gel
I love this brand so I was really pleased to see one of there eye gels in this months Glossybox, this product is one that I have already been using since I got the box. It leaves my eyes feeling really refreshed especially with this being the months of hayfever making a nasty appearance, I rub it under my eyes and leave it to sink in and it just feels so nice!

Nip+Fab - Glycolic Scrub/ Fix
I've never tried any products by Nip+Fab so was interested to find out what this product was, at the moment though I can't try it as it has salicylic acid in it which my skin can't handle at the moment due to medication I'm currently on for my skin. I will keep this in my drawer though to test at a later date.

Novex - Mystic Black Deep Hair Mask
I can't wait to try out this hair mask as it smells so nice, my hair is in need of some tlc as the ends of it are starting to feel really dry in this hot weather. So this hair mask will be interesting to see what the finished results are after using it, If I end up liking it then I'm sure there will be a blog post of it''s own at some point.

Wilkinson's Sword - Intuition f.a.b Razor
Last in my box this month was this Intuition Razor by the brand Wilkinson's Sword, I think everyone either received this or some type of make up remover? Either way I'm glad I received the razor as it's one I've never actually had before, and let's face it everyone needs a decent razor don't they haha.

Australia Fashion Week Trends

When a country is cut off geographically, it makes it difficult for it's fashion capital to make a connection and an overall impact on the fashion industry as a whole. Hopefully, the incredibly inspired and out of the box collections presented by both prominent and up and coming Australian designers will help change that. of course, a fashion week wouldn't be complete without prominent faces from the industry, as well as fashionistas posing for the streetstyle section, so in order to give you a full and comprehensive insight into Australia trends, we are covering all the bases and providing looks that were spotted on the runways and the streets of Sydney, too.

The talk of the town
Let's begin at the end, as Camilla Franks closed the fashion week not with a fizzle, but with a bang! It's amazing to see that colors are alive and well and that the vibrancy that is expected from Australia in terms of style more than lived up to the expectations. Not only were the dresses perfectly tailored, featuring that immaculate mix of feminine yet sharp cuts, and made even bolder by murkey florals, but the Japanese elements were right on point as well. Still, as not the entire collection washomage to the Japanese culture, we were also graced with gorgeous patterned kimonos, high-slit-floor-length dresses, and splashes of color for days, so it's safe to say that florals, exotic prints and haphazard combinations of vivid colors will definitely be one of the most dominant trends of the season, all splashed with a bit of Japan vibes, just to keep things more interesting.

What a twist
Australian fashion world loves the athleisure trend, and Double Rainbouu gave it more than we bargained for. Aside from the chunky sneakers, Hawaiian print swim shorts, tabloid logo T-shirts (perhaps a critique of the logo culture), bold prints and dark colours were also present. This was definitely one complete and all-encompassing collection. The female swimsuits were surprisingly black, simple and one-piece, which in terms of athleisure makes complete sense. Therefore, if you're ready to ditch colour at the beach, for the time being, embrace the return of black swimsuit. If you can't wait for this collection to come out, brands like Mint Athletic have got you covered both the swimsuit and the athleisure wear pieces.

Red and shiny
Red may be over in the north as it was already the color of fall 2017, but in Australia, things are just starting to cook. One of the most eye-catching looks was the bright and bold red patent trenches presented by Strateas Carlucci. However, the minimalistic spirit of Melbourne was present at the same time runways. It seems that Australian designers have taken a cue from designers from the North, at least judging by the sharp minimalistic wide-shoulder blazers. Yet, unlike their northern counterparts, they didn't seem to bother with trousers, so whether real people will be pairing this with the 'recommended' white tights, or go for something a little less risky, remains to be seen.

True to form
When it comes to the streets of Sydney, the one look that could not escape the eye is the white dress. Whether it was spotted, paired up with a sheer button-up and ugly sneakers, or in it's elegant, breezy ruffled form, the white dress was definitely here. We do know that the rule is "no white after Labor Day", but who cares about the rules when white dresses look this good

The bomber lives on
Well, here's a match we haven't seen before, and this is probably something only the boldest among us could rock - checkered slouchy plaid trousers followed by simple black tops, berets, and then to top it all off, an army bomber jacket and the 'it' specs of the season - the narrow geometric ones. Of course, things would not be complete without the globally popular fanny pack in it's original form. It's a strong look, and many will probably wear it, although probably not the sleek-loving fashion-savvy people.

All suited up
It seems that no one is immune to the suit trend, not even the rebellious Aussies. Many a fashionista was seen and photographed sporting the mighty suit, but they did keep things interesting by opting for patterns instead of single-color ones. Of course, there were a couple of those who were even bolder than the others. They showed off their matching skills by pairing two types of plaid in the same ensemble, which again, isn't anything new on it's own, but it looks to us that it's the nonchalant attitude of your typical Aussie that distinguishes this look and makes it stand out from all other seemingly identical ones.

Night Time Skincare Routine

nivea micellar water, simple facial wash, epiduo
I'm not sure if I've ever done one of these blog posts, but I have been doing the same skincare routine for near enough the past 4 months now and have noticed such a big change in my skin that I thought I would share it with you in this post, as I myself love reading these type of posts when it involves products that everyone can afford!

I start doing my skincare routine about 8:30pm and it literally only takes me 10 minutes or up to 20 minutes if I'm in the middle of watching something at the same time haha.

I start off with giving my face a quick cleanse with my trusted Nivea Micellar Water and thoroughly go over my face with this soaked onto some cotton pads, I do this until the cotton pad is coming away clean so maybe 2-3 times at the most. I won't go on about this product too much as I have already written a full blog post on it, which can be found here.

I will then head on down to the bathroom (yes our bathroom is downstairs in our house....annoying!), and I will use my Simple Facial Wash, I was recommended to use this particular one by my doctor as its 100% soap free so that it still gives your face a good clean but also doesn't dry your skin out aswell. My skin always feels really refreshed and clean after using this and it's definitely one that I will be sticking to from now on.

Lastly for skincare I use my Epiduo cream that I have been prescribed for my skin by my doctor, for the first 3 months I had to use this all over my face at night, but now that my skin has reacted well and cleared right up I only need to use it on the places where I can feel a spot coming up and by morning there's hardly anything noticeable there. I use this 3 times a week and then give my skin a break for a few days, just so that my skin doesn't start feeling like cling film like it did in the first 3 months.

Then just before I go to bed I have to take one of my Lymecycline tablets which are also prescribed to me by my doctor, I have been on these for nearly 4 months now aswell and I have noticed such a change in my skin its amazing!

May Glossybox: Unboxing

beauty, glossybox, subscription box, beauty box

Maria Nila - True Soft Shampoo & Conditioner
I have been looking for a new shampoo and conditioner to try for a while now so I was really excited to see these products in this month's Glossybox. They both smell really nice and leave my hair feeling really soft, and since dyeing my hair a silver colour last week I'm really trying to take better care of my hair and keep it looking nice.

Trifle Cosmetics - Praline Palette
I love the colour's in this eyeshadow palette but I already have so many unused palette's that I've received in the past that I have no idea when I will actually get to use this one. On the plus side though the packaging is gorgeous and would look rather nice in some flat lay photo's don't you think?!

Kueshi - Facial Makeup Remover
I've never heard of this brand before so I'm definitely looking intrigued to find out more about this brand, infact I'm going to go and search for this brand as soon as I've published this blog post. I'm actually going to be passing this makeup remover on to my sister though, as at this moment in time I'm wanting to stick to my trusted Nivea one, that I blogged about here.

Gelspa - Luxury Jelly Foot Soak
If this was anything other than the scents of Lavender and Lemongrass then I would have been all over this the day I received it, but unfortunately I hate both of these scents so I will be passing this on to someone else aswell so that it doesn't go to waste.

We Are Tea - Earl Grey
This was an added extra treat in this month's Glossybox, again though I won't be trying this as I'm not a fan of black tea at all.

The Ultimate Gift Guide for Fashion-Obsessed People

Photo by Jon Tyson on Unsplash

Xmas and Valentine's Day are not the only season of gifts, as there are many other days in a year when you could surprise the cherished people in your life with a small, but meaningful present. Choosing the gift can be a dull process, but if you know exactly what the person you're gifting is into, you can make the whole process much less painful. Think twice - is that person into fashion? Is he or she fashion savvy? If so, take a look at the following list of perfect gifts for fashion-obsessed people. Some will break the bank, some not; so choose the one that's best for you, that person and your wallet:

1. A Designer Piece
Photo by Samuel Zeller on Unsplash

Even though it's the most expensive option, if you're able to get this kind of present, your fashion-obsessed friend would be over the moon. However, know that you don't have to spend a fortune on gowns; you can always give a present such as a bag by a good brand such as Vetements or Balenciaga. of course, you can always choose this type of present if it's a big celebration - such as a jubilee. Moreover, you can go with some of the more luxurious brands and get them something small, such as a keychain or a wallet - it's the thought that counts, and any fashion savvy person would be thrilled.

2. A Polaroid Camera
Photo by Felipe P. Lima Rizo on Unsplash

Every fashion-obsessed individual is very much into fashion photography and Instagram. Since they tend to be very meticulous about their Instagram feed, gifting them with a good instant Polaroid camera will make their feed even more diverse, which they will definitely like. There are many varieties of polaroid cameras that you can go with, and finding one will not be very difficult. After all, this is the type of present they will be able to use even for non-fashion related photographs, and it's definitely original!

3. A Gift Card
Photo by Hipster Mum on Unsplash

If you happen to get stuck and cannot think of a perfect gift, or you just don't have time to go browsing for the gift, getting unique online gifts should be your move. You can always opt for gift cards that they will be able to spend on whatever they want. Of course, there is a high chance they will use it for something that's not connected to fashion, but let's be honest - if they're obsessed with fashion, they'll definitely use it for just that. The good thing about this type of gift is a) you won't have to go out of the house to buy it; b) you can choose the exact amount of money you want to spend.

4. Socks
Photo by Sladjana Karvounis on Unsplash

Yes, it does sound very silly and small, but we all love socks. 2018 has seen some of the most unique and colorful socks, and it's something that all of us actually need. If you choose ones with a very cute pattern, your fashion savvy friend will be able to combine them with the rest of their outfit and accentuate it with just a pair of socks. You can always buy more than one pair, though - for example, choosing seven pairs of socks for seven days of the week sounds like a very thoughtful and cute present, especially if it's for a minor occasion.

5. Minimalistic Accessories

If your friend is into accessories as well, you can always go with that. Getting accessories for someone can be rather difficult, especially if you're not really sure what that person has in their wardrobe or if they will be able to match them at all. That is why opting for minimalistic, statement pieces can be a great thing to do. That way, you'll know they'll love it (all fashion people love minimalism), and be able to combine it with their outfit for the day.

When you think about it, getting a gift for someone who likes fashion is not difficult at all. You already know what they're into (fashion, hello?) and simply start from there. You can always put yourselfs in their shoes and ask yourself what you would love to get. Good luck!

The Blogger Tag || Get To Know Me

I've been looking around online for some "get to know me blogger questions" for a while now, and recently come across a few that I liked the sound of, so thought I would use some of the questions from them for my blog, so any new readers can get to know me a little bit better.

Q1: How tall are you?
I am only 5'2, unfortunately I take after my dad for the height and I wish I was taller haha

Q2: Tattoo's or Piercings?
Both! I have my ears pierced and my belly-button pierced twice, and for tattoo's I have 6 of those.

Q3: Favourite place to be?
Oh this is an easy one for me.....HOME! I am such a homebody and love to just have a quiet day indoors.

Q4: What's your biggest pet peeve?
Ignorance! I can't stand it.

Oh this is an easy one for me, its a track called "Heartless" by Matt Terry, it's my favourite song of he's that is on he's album.

Q6: What's your favourite social media website?
I would have to say at the moment, my favourite is Instagram, I go through stages with Instagram where some days I will love it and then the next I won't even log on to it for a few days.

Q7: What's your favourite way to spend your free time when your alone?

Q11: What's your favourite beauty product or tool?
I am absolutely loving the Maybelline Tattoo Brow at the moment, I got the medium brown one and it is just the right colour for me. It only needs to stay on for 20 minutes to get the required colour and it stays on for 3 days, even when using a face wash. The results of it are in the main picture of me in this blog post.

Q12: If you could ask your pets one question each, what would it be?
Lana: Why do you constantly bark at other dogs when your out on a walk?
Gizmo: Where was you when you went missing for 4 days?
Milo: Why do you go on all the time like you've never been fed?
Shadow: Why are you scared of everyone but me?

That would probably be orange juice or grape juice, I couldn't pick just one.....I like them both way too much!

Q14: What's your favourite movie?
Ooh this is between Coyote Ugly and Dirty Dancing, they are just classic films ain't they.

Q15: What was your favourite lesson in school and why?
I think it was Art, as I have always loved to draw and this gave me the opportunity to do just that. I hated school in general but art was defintley my favourite lesson

Q16: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Australia! It's one of the country's that I have always wanted to go to but as of yet have never had the chance to or been able to afford to go there either. I would love to live out there though!

Mac all the way, I've had my iMac for about 2 years now and I still love it. I do want to get myself a macbook aswell but for now my iMac does the job it needs to.

No none for me thankyou! Don't get me wrong I absolutely love kids, but I like to be able to give them back at the end of the day.

Q19: What blogger/vlogger do you secretly want to be friends with?
I would love to be friends with either Brogan Tate or Gabriella Lindley, they are my two favourite vloggers to watch and I think they come across really friendly in their vlogs that they do. Always look forward to their videos landing in my subscription box.

Q20: Are you a morning or night person?
Definitely a night person, I seem to get a lot more done when I'm awake of a night then I do during the day. I just don't seem to have any motivation during the day when it comes to anything, I seem to get all my energy from about 9pm onwards.

Somethings Got To Change....

blogging, ideas, pinterest, cactus, stationery
Just lately I have really fallen out of love with blogging, this is mainly down to the fact I don't feel my blogs name is a bit of me anymore, I mean I still love everything to do with what the name relates to but it's just not me anymore....so somethings got to change!

I've already taken little steps to get back into blogging, this being have a completely new layout that is something I would never have usually gone for and now that it's all installed I love the look of it, now I just need to come up with a new name for the blog and then figure out how to change this blog over to the new name.

If anyone has any tips on how best to change blog names without having to start a brand new blog, then please do let me know. If you've already changed your blog name was it hard to do when it came to updating everything related to your blog or was it easy?

I also want to sit down one night and brainstorm some post idea's for the blog, and also work on how I can improve my photography even more for my Instagram account. I literally have so many things I want to achieve with the blog, but when it comes down to it my mind just goes completely blank for some reason and I don't know why!

So hopefully over the next few weeks I can start getting back into blogging on a regular basis again.

April Glossybox: Unboxing

glossybox, eyeko, imperial leather, modelco, karl lagerfeld, affect cosmetics

Karl Lagerfeld & ModelCo - Baked Blush
so this product is a Glossybox early exclusive as the launch date is still yet to be announced, It's a gorgeous baked blush that both brightens and highlights to create a catwalk inspired glow. I've actually got my sister and brother-in-laws 1st anniversary party coming up soon, so I think I will try this product out then to see how it looks.

Eyeko London - Fat Liquid Eyeliner
I will be the first to admit that I'm really not a fan of eyeliner pens, so although this is a decent full sized product for this months box and many will be jumping for joy over this, I will be passing this on to someone else who will get use out of it rather than it just being stored away in a drawer.

Imperial Leather - Unicorn Foamburst
I love these foambursts by Imperial Leather and was really happy to see one one in this months box....and so was my niece as she has already claimed this for herself haha. So it looks like I will be having to head to the shops in search of another one!

Affect Cosmetics - Matt Effect Loose Rice Powder
I have never heard of this brand before so I'm definitely going to be having a look into more of there products aswell as trying out this one. It says it's a perfect makeup setter which instantly absorbs oil and also sets foundation and lipstick without giving the "cakey" look.

Glossybox Angled Brush
I have so many brushes that are similar to this brush, so I may pass this one onto my sister if she needs a new one, I would have liked to have seen another product rather than a brush but I can't really complain when all the other products in this months box were all full sized.

Millennial Pink vs Revolutionary Red

In the world of fashion, this season we’re witnessing a true clash of the titans. Red has always been a symbol of power and even rebellion. It has been featured in numerous collections, from those presented by Dolce and Gabbana to Jil Sander. Of course, in the wake of a very strange political climate, it’s no wonder the color has taken over. After all, it has always been a sign of rebellion, but it seems that right now, that ‘purpose’ is stronger than ever. It is obvious in the attire choices of Hillary Clinton, and perhaps even more obvious in the TV adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel, The Handmaid’s Tale. The main theme of the novel which was written 1986 is authoritarian patriarchy, and for those who aren’t familiar, the handmaids in question are forced to wear long wide red dresses and cloaks – exclusively. Somehow, they come to own the color that is imposed on them, and it becomes a sign of silent rebellion. The adaptation comes at a time when the dystopian topic resonates truer than ever, which is probably one of the strongest reasons for such a strong comeback of this color, in all its different shades. Whether rocked in the form of monochromatic outfits or a single strategically placed accessory, it is both a timeless sign of femininity and female power.

Now, if you’re wondering about the right way to rock it, the answer is simple – however you want. There doesn’t seem to be the slightest risk of making a mistake when rocking red. You can go with an ultra-feminine bodycon dress as seen on the eternally fierce Sofia Vergara and make the most seductive impact ever. You can, of course, take a route that is both powerful yet modest, while incorporating two of the hottest trends – suits and the color red. Pantsuits are definitely back, and they’re not drab, dull or constricting. On the contrary, their place as one of the most powerful items in the land known as power-dressing has been given back to them, and when on the subject of power, it doesn’t get more fierce than true red. It makes a very strong statement – not only are women taking the ‘uniform’ from the boys, but they’re here to tell the world that this isn’t a man’s world anymore. Of course, it takes courage to wear such a conspicuous outfit, and you surely will be in head-to-toe red, but you can always start small. Use accessories such as bags to bring the vividness into your wardrobe. Australian women have found their favorites in the red bags so it would be smart to take their cue and find your go-to red bag supplier; it’s a good way to start the wardrobe revolution. Red suede ankle boots are also a wonderfully understated yet noticeable way to go, so go and find the boots that are made for walking. Pencil skirts, polka-dot dresses, coats, bags, even jewelry – everything goes, just make it happen. This is the year of red.

Now, let’s talk about the seemingly fleeting millennial pink? For those who are still a bit unclear as to what shade of pink this actually is, well, there is no simple explanation. It has been rocked in the same way red is being now – tracksuits, hip New Balance sneakers, dresses, blazers, coats – you name it, Zara had it. It’s actually several variations of pink that go by the same name. It’s described as a softer shade that looks as if all the blue notes have been taken out, and later expanded to include a range of shades from beige with just a touch of blush to a peach-salmon hybrid, and it was the official Pantone color of the year 2015. To some it’s also known as Tumblr Pink and even Scandi Pink. The question that remains is – why did it experience such a surge in popularity, and what brought the invention of this particular set of hues in the first place? , According to The Cut, the intention of this hue is to emphasize the blurring of gender roles that has taken place in the 21st century. This hue (or multitudes of it) is a physical representation of an androgynous generation that refuses to be defined in limited gender terms. Boys, girls and undecided flaunt their pink garments proudly, even male celebrities. It’s the hue that tells us all gender barriers are broken and there is no such thing as a ‘girly’ or ‘masculine’ color anymore.

On the one hand, we don’t think the powerful and ever-opinionated millennials will allow for it to fade in popularity quite as quickly, but on the other hand, they are part of the movements that are now battling larger injustices, including some of the gender-related ones, with extra issues added. So, it’s not as if the ‘purpose’ of millennial pink is being overshadowed. In fact, it seems that revolutionary red has welcomed everything the soft pink stands for. That is exactly why red trumps pink – it’s all-encompassing in meaning and timeless in appearance.

Staying Kind To Your Skin

Nivea, Micellar, Water, Skincare

I have always been one of those people who love to try new products, but then also end up worrying about how said product is going to effect my skin. My skin is so sensitive to anything new that it can go one of two ways, one being that it drastically improves my skin or two it can make me breakout really bad! So when it comes to micellar waters to cleanse the face, I have been really funny about which ones to try and at this moment in time I have only tried two different ones which are ones by Garnier and also Nivea.

I started off by using the Garnier Micellar Water because I saw loads of people over on Instagram recommending it and that it really was one of the best, in the first month or so of using it my skin started breaking out really bad, but I just thought it was the way my skin was.

Nivea, Micellar, Water, Skincare
So just recently I decided to try again with a micellar water but this time by the brand Nivea as I've never had a bad reaction to any of there products, and I'm so glad I found this one. I use this every morning and every night just on a cotton pad and wipe gently across my face and over my eyes, it leaves my skin feeling so soft and refreshed, it doesn't make me break out or cause my skin to dry out either.

So just because something will work for one person, doesn't mean it will work for everyone, so if you purchase something just because you have seen good results on someone else but your skin doesn't react well to it then change it up a bit and see what other cleansers are available out there.

March Glossybox: Unboxing

MudMasky - Sleep Repair Renewal Nourishing Mask
I love the sound of this mask and can't wait to give it a try in a few months time, as at the moment I am currently on a night time cream for my face from my doctor and I am on that for the next three months. So once I have used that I am definitely going to be giving this one a try.

Oryza Beauty - Warm nude Lipstick
Can't fault a nude coloured lipstick can you, it's one of those colours that usually most of the time suit near enough everybody, this is a brand that I had never heard of before but I do love there packaging keeping it simple with just the silver writing on the side of it. I'm going to be looking into more products from this brand.

Figs & Rouge - Soft Focus Pore Perfect HD+
I have already tested this product out, and I love the way it makes my skin feel, at the moment I am using it after I have applied my moisturiser and it gives my skin a nice matte look to it. I have also found that it really does help to keep bb cream or foundation in place all day without your face starting to look a bit shiny in places. I'm definitely going to look into more of there products soon!

Meg Cosmetics - Good Night PM Mask
I love a good face mask, and was really excited when I saw this in Glossybox this month, it's not a brand that I have heard of before so I'm looking forward to seeing how this makes my skin feel after.

Universal Beauty - Secret Flush
This is also another brand that I had only heard a few things about but had never actually owned any of there products, I love the fact that this is a multi use product that can be used for both a cream blusher aswell as a lip stain. I haven't tried it out as of yet but I am looking forward to seeing how it looks on me.

How to Channel the Best Runway Looks from NY Fashion Week

Every year, we are flooded by the imagination of some of the brightest fashion minds, and the previous seasons were no exception – from Alexander Wang’s formidable February finale clad in asymmetrical minimalism, all the way to shining authenticity represented by Michael Kors, we have yet to see the novelty taking charge in the streets.

As we’re waiting for the first rays of spring, it’s time to take another look at our wardrobe and find the missing links. Your look should never completely replace your own fashion philosophy by becoming a bland copy of a supermodel’s signature selection of outfits, but you can derive drops of inspiration from their ingenuity and make your own look stand out even further. Enter: the latest NY Fashion Show and its shimmering stars.

Eckhaus Latta your jeans
As a staple of modern wear, your denim jeans are unlikely to be the boldest piece in your collection, but with the help of the Eckhaus Latta dynamic duo and their unconventional take on all things fashion and beauty, you are about to transform your look completely.

Cutting-edge, yet delightfully vintage, these jeans take simple to a whole new level of fun and unique – think classic, fresh blue paired with high-waisted cuts, and pockets of unusual angles to complete the visual appeal. It’s time to put away the ripped and low-cut jeans, and use this opportunity to make your style scream elegance and comfort without failing to dazzle.

Accessorize your locks
Let’s step away from the usual ways you finalize your look, and instead of your typical layered necklaces and chunky rings, give hair accessories a go. The NY fashion scene was brimming with wraps, bands, massive hats, alluring clips, hence the idea to use your mane to make a statement. Take a hint from Alexander Wang’s star, Cardi B, and her flawless presentation of putting on a headpiece that stole as much spotlight as the thigh-high boots or her power strut. While this is not something everyone could pull off, if you have that chic sass in your existing look, such a statement piece will make it pop even more.

Adorn your feet
Another proof that you can do so much while you change very little is to shift the focus on your feet. Instead of going for the big and bold pieces chosen by top designers, go for a pair of unique ladies shoes with an intriguing ethnic design or some fluff on the toes, and you’re good to go!

Things can be even more interesting when you opt for sandals with platforms, loud, and contrasting tones in design, such as black, green, yellow, and red. What’s more, by adding texture in the form of fur and frill is always an added bonus for personalizing your style.

Get into the street spirit with Pyer Moss
It’s no secret that the world is getting more athletic as we speak, and with such tendencies come new movements in fashion, and open new windows of opportunity for designers to stir the dull waters of monochrome outfits and elevate the gray hoodie to a new level of cool. With names such as Pyer Moss, the direction has gained new meaning as well, since the prejudice-free, empowering looks on the runways have caused quite an ovation you can translate into your own street style passion.

From logoed tees with stitched-in messages to flaunt your beliefs, to Reebok-inspired tracksuits and deliciously oversized scarves, you can make your style more comfort-oriented, superbly cozy, and still powerful with these selected pieces. You can never go wrong with a hoodie, of course, but a colorful track mixed in with classic sneakers gives you that edgy vibe of the latest fashion craze.

Bring back the 80s
We have always liked that fashion makes room for minimalism-oriented “little is more” outfits as well as the “go all out” collections, both of which represent two polarities of the same value: beauty. This upcoming fall will be dressed in both of these extremes, but the latter has seen some significant contributions from Marc Jacobs, Fendi and Tom Ford, among other famous names.

Wondering how you can immerse yourself in all that excess? Layers of color, texture, playing with size, and absolute hairstyle galore! Those headbands (leather in particular) will add to the spirit of this rising trend, and this is your chance to start flaunting some neons if you dare invoke your rebellious self to the surface.

Monthly Favourites

Dove, Skin Chemists, Mineral Makeover, Sport Fx, Mitchum

This month has been a bit of a weird one when it comes to my monthly favourite, due to the fact I ain't been able to use much on my skin because of the medication that I am now on for the next 3 months. So the few products I have been using I have decided to share with you in my monthly favourites for February.

February Glossybox: Unboxing

glossybox, beautybox, subscription box,
Let's just start this blog post with how nice is the packaging for this months Glossybox, I love it! Usually I tend to keep these boxes to use as storage instead of just throwing them away, this one though I think is going to make it into the box I have for photo props, and it's too pretty just to store away out of sight never to be seen again.

So let's start by seeing what is in the February glossybox this month

Dealing With Acne As An Adult...

Epiduo, Lymecycline

For as long as I can remember I have always suffered with some form of acne, some days it would be that bad my face would hurt to even touch, but on other days I wouldn’t even notice it where my skin wasn’t that bad at all. I tried everything going to “get rid of spots” and read up on all different home remedies that were supposedly meant to get rid of them overnight, but still nothing.

How to Style the Same Dress for 5 Different Occasions

A Fashion savvy gal is not, contrary to popular belief, the gal who has to wear something different everyday. It's the gal who sees a plain dress and can immediately think of at least a few ways to style it. This is why the little black dress is staple that dates back all the way to 1920s and Coco Chanel, and why it gave us a lot of iconic moments thought history, like Audrey Hepburn's Givenchy dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's. If you want to be a fashion diva, you've got to know how to work your garments and be versatile, and there's no better item that allows for that sort of practicality than the LBD. Interested in how to make a single dress work for you on multiple occasions? Let us show you.

In February I Want To...

Monthly Goals

Like last month, I have set myself some goals again for the moth of February. I am really happy with the way my blog is going at the moment and I hope as a reader of this blog, you continue to enjoy the posts that I do :-)

In February I Want To...

January Empties

empties, zoella, garnier, snow bubbly, skin therapy, wilkinsons, neutrogena

Every year I tell myself "no more beauty/skincare products Claire until you've used up what you already have", and 2018 is the year that I am determined to stick to. So throughout each month everything I have used up I'm setting aside in a little basket so I can do one of these posts each month.

Essie Gel Nails

Essie Gel Nails
It's been so long since I last done a nail blog post, like a proper nail post showing you what I have been wearing on my nails just lately. It's definitely something I want to do more of this year on my blog as I have such a love of everything to do with nails being a Nail Technician and all...

Some Body Teatox Day & Night*

Some Body TeaTox Day & Night
I was recently sent the Somebody Teatox 28 Day Detox & Cleanse from Superdrug to try out, as after the Christmas/New Year period everyone no doubt will want to try to eat more healthy, and with this you can do a Detox and Cleanse all in the same day just by simply having a cuppa tea with these teabags.
